CafnQR FAQ
Common questions about menus, orders, WhatsApp, table QR, billing, customer data, and UAE-facing operations.
What is CafnQR?
CafnQR is a restaurant SaaS platform built for QR menus, online ordering, table QR, branch order workflows, WhatsApp order alerts, CRM visibility, billing, and premium add-ons such as KOD Display, Restaurant Website and Restaurant TV.
Can CafnQR support one branch and multiple branches?
Yes. CafnQR is structured around restaurant accounts and branch entitlements. A restaurant can operate under a single-branch plan or a multi-branch plan, and can expand using higher plans or additional branch licenses.
Who controls menus, prices and availability?
The restaurant and its authorised users control menu content, prices, best-seller labels, images, branch-level price adjustments, and category availability windows. Restaurants are responsible for ensuring menu descriptions, prices, allergens, taxes, and availability disclosures are accurate and lawful.
Does CafnQR process card payments?
In the current build, CafnQR stores the selected payment method and routes the order workflow, but it does not natively store card numbers or run an in-platform card vault. If a separate payment provider is later integrated, that provider's payment terms and privacy rules will also apply.
What is the Table Menu add-on?
Table Menu is a separate restaurant add-on that unlocks table QR generation, dine-in menu pages, and table-order routing to the branch. It is not included by default in every restaurant account.
What is KOD Display?
KOD Display is a branch add-on that provides a kitchen order display screen for pending and accepted orders, including elapsed-time visibility and browser-ready display access.
What is Restaurant TV?
Restaurant TV is a restaurant add-on for browser-based TV playback in branches or outlets. It includes screen management, PIN pairing, remote refresh, remote stop/start, and extra screen licensing through the TV Screen add-on.
Who owns the restaurant content uploaded into CafnQR?
The restaurant remains responsible for and retains rights in its own uploaded business content, subject to the licence needed for CafnQR to host, process, display, route, and technically operate that content inside the service.
Can branches log in without a password?
Yes, where enabled in CafnQR workflows. Branch users can receive one-time magic login links for specific operational actions. These links are time-limited and single-use for security.
Who is actually selling the food or service to the customer?
The restaurant or branch shown on the ordering page is the seller and service provider for the food, beverage, or dine-in service. CafnQR provides the digital platform, order routing, and related technology services, but does not itself prepare or fulfil the food unless expressly stated otherwise in a separate agreement.
Who handles cancellations, complaints or refunds for an order?
The restaurant or branch handling the order remains responsible for menu accuracy, preparation, service quality, delivery or collection arrangements, and any refund or complaint resolution required by law or by the restaurant's own policy. CafnQR may help route technical issues, but does not replace the merchant's obligations to the customer.
Can a customer track an order?
Yes, where the branch has order tracking enabled through the CafnQR flow. Order tracking is branch-specific and normally uses the phone number and, where available, the order reference.
Why does CafnQR ask for customer name, phone and address?
Those details are used to route, confirm, track and support the order, and to help the restaurant contact the customer where needed. Table orders may require less data than delivery orders.
Does CafnQR store card numbers?
Not in the current build. CafnQR stores order data and the selected payment method. If a separate payment provider is used in the future, the provider's payment rules and privacy notices will also apply.
How are add-ons activated?
Restaurant admins can request add-ons from the CafnQR add-on store. Super admin approval may be required before the feature becomes active. Some add-ons are restaurant-wide, while others are branch-specific.
Are all add-ons recurring?
No. CafnQR supports both recurring and one-time add-ons. For example, Restaurant TV is recurring, while services such as Restaurant Website and Flip Menu are one-time purchases in the current catalog.
What happens if a restaurant needs more branches or more TV screens?
The restaurant can purchase the relevant capacity add-on, such as Additional Branch License or TV Screen, subject to plan structure, entitlement checks, and approval workflow.
Does CafnQR consider UAE legal requirements?
Yes. CafnQR is designed for UAE-facing use and its legal framework should be read alongside applicable UAE law, including consumer protection, privacy/data protection, e-commerce, electronic transaction and tax rules. Restaurants remain responsible for their own licences, product legality, disclosures, and sector-specific compliance.
Do customer-facing terms and information need to be available in Arabic?
Where UAE law requires consumer-facing data, advertising, contracts, or disclosures to be available in Arabic, the restaurant and platform must respect that requirement. CafnQR terms and pages should therefore be treated together with any Arabic disclosures or contractual documents required for the specific deployment.
How can a privacy or legal request be submitted?
For branch-order issues, the restaurant may be the first operational contact. For CafnQR platform privacy or legal requests, use the official CafnQR support channel or a documented written request through the business contact route used for your account.
